People from Manila are not afraid to show their support for a band. Dili pareha sa Cebu bisan 50 pesos ra ang entance ug gig mangita gihapon paagi na mka libre. Tan-aw nako, murag sobra-an ra ang pride nato mga Cebuano, dili mu pak-pak bisan payter na kaayo ang tukar. Mao na dapat ato ma kat-onan sa mga taga Manila.

Once a year lang gud sila mu play sa cebu under sonic boom. Ingon pang promoter sa Sonic Boom taga ari nila, ma alkansi pa gyud cla. Kung ma buhi ang banda diri naa na unta cla diri ga tukar. pero the truth is dili gyud mabuhi kung mag indie band ka diri sa cebu. mu tukar lang cla for the love of music. pero kwarta? wala gyud. ma bungkag nalang sila wala gyud.

Lingaw pato sa una kay naa ang urban dub ug faspitch and some other bands. Pero when they left for manila, na mingaw gyud intawon ang cebu music scene. MURAG hapit na ma matay gyud. Mi sarado pa gyud mga venues like handuraw, zubu rock bar, nuvo, vuduu and other places. Wala na gyud. Sarado man gani ang Ratsky sa Ayala. Para sa mga showband na gud na. Wa sad clay kita tingali. Ka igit igit na gyud ta ani.

Who will save the Cebu music scene? Is there still what we call the "sound of the south"? Is there one brave soul who has that vision? mayta naa.

Naa man cguro na2 tanan na nga vision... but the thing is wala man japon ta padulngan... who will help us....

very few gigs pay because very few sponsors are interested from a "roots" level (they wait til an artist is relatively more "sikat"). very few venues pay because they themselves are struggling to stay open (how many proper music venues are around even? very few)

pero if you have a paying audience, even if only 15 pesos goes to the bands and you have 100 attendies, then you have 1500 pesos that can go to band meals and transportation.

people here expect to be entertained for free. entertainment comes with a cost.

if you want the cebu music scene to grow, if you want our artists to go out to a national (international!) level, you have to support the musicians.

pay for your tickets at gigs.

Di sad tingali tag 15 pesos oi. ang set up diri sa usa ka gig usually is 4 to 5 bands a night. kung tag P15.00 murag tag P3.00 ra usa ka banda. kung 100 ka tawo (pero murag lisod most of the time) tag P300.00 ra ang banda. what is P300.00 to 4 people. tag P75.00 to P80.00 ra ang usa. mas mayo tingali mu baligya nalang ug bar-b-que ang mga banda mas ma ka kwarta pa. ang pungko pungko maka P800.00 to P1000 gud na sila sa usa ka adlaw. basta maayo sad ang pwesto. unya taga adlaw pa. ang indie na musikero P80.00 ang bayad pero once a week lang. unsaon na lang na. basig mayo na maka gig kung 2x a month.

Maypa ang mga musicians mag unite haron mag tukod ug pungko pungko! atong suportahan, didto ta ma ngaon tanan. hehehe.
