layman's understanding of the term 'livable'Â* i don't really think so.. not unless if local leaders would find ways on how to address the problem on congestion..
given 10 yrs of effort, it is possible. God be willing.
well...let see..wait lang ko.. kon unsay mahitabo..
Our population density right now is LOW compared to progressive cities like Hong Kong and Singapore. And it will be impossible to reach even 1 person per square meter in 10 years. Not even in 50 years will it become like that.Originally Posted by reggiebuang

In the first place, does it necessarily need high population density to make it as a livable city? Auckland, New Zealand and Geneva, Switzerland's densities are both far lower than Cebu, but it is still way more livable city to live with.Originally Posted by mannyamador
Why do we need to increase Cebu's population density when it can not even manage the present one? This is not the area we need to increase if we need to make Cebu the most livable city in Asia.
I think a livable city means a high standard of living. It means best access to clean water, entertainment and recreation, clean air, security, education, transportation and consumer goods. If cebu city and the whole province can provide these things regardless of population density, then I think we can call the place a livable place.
tumpak. provide it to "everybody" sad, without discrimination.Originally Posted by bcasabee
for someone who is not from cebu, i think i can live with it because, it offers a lot of job and business opportunities, but that's all there is to it...i just hope that crime rate is controllable by then
^^yes.crime rate is under control by the cebu city government partly bcoz of Vigilantism
