Not in my bookI like collecting and reading books. I'm old school. Even my collection of e-books will not suffice.
i think in the long run here after carefully reading the posts,
rodsky's thoughts will emerge as one great possibility.
technology, like aging, is something that we cannot stop.
books will always be there, but not too many will be carrying it
in the palm of their hands.
ive also noticed that many posted the smell of the books gives
pleasure upon reading.i guess it just satiates the feeling of reading,
not absorbing the contents of the book itself.
i got a story id like to share re this,
i met someone at starbucks and she says shes
read the entire vampire chronicles, i asked her
if she still has her collections at home, cause i mentioned
a line in a page of the vampire lestat and i was quoting
marius at that. she replied that it was the queen vampire
akasha who said that.
the conversation ended when she mentioned that she
feels how the characters have felt upon browsing the books.
she mentioned something like "feel kaau nako ang smell sa
lafayette cem during midnight, smells like the pages of the
books im reading"
i walked out after saying, "no dear, during midnight, if u just
read the book, lafayette smells like jasmine and the dead, nothing more. "
hahahaha @ the story...
I'm sure she wasn't me...
