Use partition magic for sure partition. If windows XP setup imo way gamiton naa mahibilin nga unallocated space w/c is a waste. I prefer partition magic coz it will probably provide a full clean partition.

if naa ka xp cd pwde na nmo magamit pra mag partition during sa pag boot, itaud lng daan ang xp cd. pro imo sa i 1st priority daan ang cd-rom sa bios setup.

if naka win xp nka, adto sa control panel>administrative tools>computer management dn click ang disk management dn pangitaa imong hdd. pwde lng nmo ma partition if naa unpartitioned space. if wala nid nmo i format pra ma partition imong hdd or use 3rd party partition software (pro la pa ko ka try ani).

first and foremost : BACK-UP the data

solution without partition magic - HERE.

it its a slave to a running win xp hdd | or it is connected thru a usb enclosure

    > right click my computer > manage > computer management menu will appear > storage > disk management
    > u will see all the BIOS DETECTED HDD in ur pc > right click the slave drive or the usb drive
    > delete partition ( if it is a whole volume hdd )
or delete partition ( specific partition : ex.. if e:\ 40gb is a running partition with operating system of the slave hdd | usb hdd of 160gb capacity ..then f:\ is about 120gb, that u wanted to divide into 2 or more. )

    > right click ( again ) create partition or partition > format ( quick or standard )

if it is a lone hdd or the running hdd in ur pc ( that u wanted to repartition from the scratch )

    > restart > insert win xp > press any key to boot from cd > setup xp: enter > EULA : f8 to agree > detecting previous windows xp installation : ESC

    > select the drive u wanted win xp will be setup > PRESS D : delete partition > enter > to continue press L > assuming all partition had been deleted > PRESS C to create partiton >

assuming that all partition had been created > U HAVE to in stall xp ( of course! to utilize ur pc )

    * anyways, all partition created can be seen in the explorer of the running win xp, you just have to format it the partition before u can use it.

if it is a lone hdd or the running hdd in ur pc ( that u wanted to repartition live with in win XP )

    > right click my computer > manage > computer management menu will appear > storage > disk management

    > delete partition ( specific partition : ex.. drive d:\ is about 120gb, that u wanted to divide into 2 or more. )

    > right click ( again ) create partition or partition > format ( quick or standard )

    enjoy!
