    FYI,

Ryan Yu reviewed the old Suzuki Grand Vitara. The current model which Suzuki has in their showrooms is the new one equipped with the same engine as the Toyota Rav4.

This makes the Suzuki a good choice against the RAV4 or the CRV. CRV runs apx 6.8/L to 7.4/L from experience. Expect the Suzuki and RAV4 at 7/L

Sorry For wrong info. Suzuki might be using the same or similar type of engine as with the toyota in their RAV4 and Grand Vitara using the VVTi but Suzuki is still independent from toyota.

Toyota has majority share or sufficient share with other type of manufacturers are:
    Scion , Daihatsu ( Avanza) , Lexus
    Minority share:
Isuzu ( Hence rumored Isuzu engine on toyota body ) , Fuji ( Subaro WRX STI ) , Yamaha.

The new GV 2.4L has some nice additions over the older version... For instance, it now comes with front and rear disc brakes, MP3 disc playing head unit, updated console, etc.

Fuel mileage should be a bit better since it now comes in a 4x2 version.
