wager was intended to defend his faith and lets say sucker some points, not a general rule of thumb of some sorts. masabi mo ring selfish reason kasi, he did not factor in the other possibilities...layman's term: cheating
hmmm... again, i agree with you on the weaknesses of the wager, but i don't think pascal was being dishonest.

    love, mercy, just.
free will...if you do it for conditions A, B, or C. still free?

you dont have to answer that...just voicing my thoughts.
hehehe, share lang gihapon ko sa ako thoughts pud bro.

dili ko mutuo og predestination... i believe nga kitang tanan naa jud ta'y power to mold our destiny. ingun pa nila: "the best way to predict your future is to create it."

it's true that we have limited freedom kay most of the time we cannot control the events that happen to us. pero we do have the power to choose our responses to the events that happen to us. "between stimulus and response is a space, and in that space lies my freedom to become the person i want to become..." so we are truly free.

i think that hell is just the natural consequence of people who choose to do evil.

dli ba diay ni contradict ang evolution ug creation, bro?
dli ko mutuo sa Evolution bro kay mutuo mn ko sa Creation...sukwahi au theory ni Darwin ug ang sa Creation gud...
dli man tingay mutunga lang ug kalit(evolve) ang butang nga way nghimo(create) nga knang butanga mutunga...

^ dili man tingali necessarily mga mucontradict sila bro. i mean, if "creationism" imo pasabot, that the world began only a few thousand years ago, then that's another story.

i think that God never meant the story of creation to be written as a scientific explanation of how the universe began hehe. nigamit ra siya og terms and imagery nga dali masabtan sa mga taw atong panahuna.

i think if you have a god. you have this kind of mentality.

    do good to please someone(god).
but why do u need to please someone as a motivation to do good?
you just have to experience love.

    hehe just my two cents.

by the way. kung ge boringan mo sa introduction sa movie.
kini YouTube - Zeitgeist: Addendum 8/13 murag mas interesting.
this way i can prove my point.

ang evolution gradual process, hinay kaayo -- di kalit. kun imong gi mean sa evolution ang theory ni darwin (actually naa pay laing theory of evolution), then contradictory sya sa literal interpretation sa biblical account of creation. sa biological evolution di necessary ang "creator" right from the start. life (in the form of unicellular organisms) evolved from non-living chemical compounds, from then on different species evolved -- very slowly -- di kalit.

maybe we owe that to pascal's peers for making it that way...not using it the way it was supposed to be intended.hahaha

    nice talking with you.
how would you know if you really had the power to choose...knowing something knows what it already is before you do?

i dont believe in DESTINY. i dont blame something/someone for my shortcomings...coz that something most likely is ME.

i share the same sentiments. not generally for all of them though.hehehe

doing good to please someone/something to me is kinda immature. these type of people only behave when they know there is a security camera around.hehehe

doing "good" due to threats of fire and torture, is like blackmail to me either.hehehe
its no different from a someone pointing a gun in your tempo...believe or else.
(the approach is no different, drop the how's, why's, and what's...)

why not do good things...because its good?

and that's very good. goodness is an end in itself; it's not only a means to an end.
