I'm pretty sure those tax plans are being revised right after the bailout or "rescue plan" as Bush would put it. Honestly - tax cuts are good but that's not my main concern right now. I'm fairly happy with what I've been paying these past few years. What we really need are jobs (unemployment rate being at 7% I think) and independence from foreign oil/energy... and of course, the plan to keep Social Security afloat and functional.

@Gwynheuver, thanks for the info and rest assured i will read it. m just an average person that sometimes miss to understand stuffs with these issues but m willing to learn. m always open for learning.

@Ezra, m still amenable and agreeable to wat m paying for now and im with u on ur concerns too. as i believe each issues now are intertwind, interrelated to each other and their effects to the economy and country.

wat i really just want for the candidate who will take place for the presidential seat soon....is to properly prioritize and to be realistic. its only when we know our limits that one can attain and do more beyond our bounderies for our citizens.

AMERICA and naturalized istoryans, pls...make use of ur wise, intellectual, sound mind and judgement for this presidential election 2008!!! The future is in ur hands

polls shows that obama leads from mccain... also news says that americans are tired of the leadership frm bush and may even to mccain, so i guess obama will surely make his way to the white house

Vienzel: problem is (and this is the biggest disappointment for me sa debate gabii) ... NO ONE!! - neither of them have the balls to admit that the "rescue bill" did not work. Wa gyuy ni admit gabii... they went on and on about putting the economy back on its feet - getting people jobs, etc... That's all good but you have to recognize the reason why we're here now and address to it accordingly. No one has ever talked abou the Financial Institutions balance sheets - the transparency (including the off-balance sheet assets). Right now, the trust is gone. Why? Because no one can really tell the true value of ones' holdings/assets when balance sheets including off-balance-sheet vehicles are not being disclosed!!!! Now kining practice sa CDS - over-the-counter transactions that are totally unregulated nga walay margin or capital supervision - mao nang nahitabo, they don't know if their counter-party can pay. So karon.. mga defaults, foreclosures, etc maoy labas. LEVERAGE! - this is what got us in this mess. It has to be regulated!! Ang kanang mga dagkong financial institutions nga nanga tagak - (FNM, FRE, BSC, AIG, LEHMQ) .. all of them nanubra ug leverage.

So far this is all I can think of - this is basic knowledge sa mga traders and Financial Analysts and Economists have sent their suggestions to the Congress, Senate, and President pero wala tagda. Those 2 Candidates need to recognize the problem. Problem is, they refuse to cut off WALL STREET's leg.

@EZRA, same here...that's one thing i have been waiting for them to admit to themselves. ky para nako if one has the balls to accept their faults then naa pa pag-asa na makasulti ta na naay pay character of responsibility nabilin nila. if we have the acceptance, then one can move on. they cud have looked into the eyes of each americans straight and say...look, nasayop mi sa Bailout plans. lets take another route....bla3x

instead of doing the blaming game, labi na si McCain (m sori republicans...nothing personal) na sige lang ug sulti..."ME, MY, I etc..."

@mejie : naa pay 27 days to election, daghan pa pwede mahitabo. US elections doesnt only rely on the majority of votes by population with each states. they have wat they called electoral votes per state and usually that can stir up decisions most of the time sa election day! look wat happen sa 2nd term ni BUSH vs. Algore. diba controversial to?

so hang on this is truly a very bumpy ride to recovery

@ezra and vienzel....both candidates did not have the balls to talk straight kay they both wanted to sound "politically" correct...saon coming man ang election so they do not want to rock the boat especially si obama nga leading siya karon...siguro he is just keeping his fingers crossed nga mag padayon ang trend until d'day ...and trying to just cruise through the remainng days....si mccain sad is desperately trying to find that zing that will swing the momentum to his side...

anyway OT man ni ...pero 2 years ago my husband and i bought some gold kay we saw these economic collapse coming....we bought it at 610USD/oz nya karon it is fluctuating sa high 800's and in fact today nag 920....if you have extra...get your cash out of the banks...nya try to research and check if mo agree sad mo to buy gold instead of keeping cash....suggestion lang na ako ha.... if you wanna discuss this some more ...PM lang...aron di ta ma OT.

OT: Vienzel... Gore was the 1st, Kerry was 2nd. Yeah, that was controversial kay ang mga taw sa Florida gipang ango ango na - di kabalo mo ihap (I think sa FL ko nagpuyo around that time).

Gwynn: I also suggested that a few weeks ago sa pikas thread - and I, myself, bought physical gold and option calls on GLD sab.

The old man is always saying "He knows how to solve this my friends".. blah blah he cannot even answer straight on how to prioritize the top 3 problems on address the fundamental problems.. he's trying to BS the Americans that he has the experience well.. after the debate I think it helps Obama to jump the lead against McCain. Hopefully on the 3rd presidential debate next week this will clearly differentiate the 2 candidates.

My wife told me earlier nga usa sa mga Cardiologist sa ilang hospital thinks that McCain might not last a full term if ever elected President. Ug mao nang kalakiha, mo expire lang ug kalit si McCain - bang! si PALIN ang ma Presidente... BUTANGI!!! .. good thing is, She's not as dumb as CORY pero regardles, she's still not qualified to run the country.
