I had the chance earlier to check out the 2009 TOYOTA FORTUNER and again the 2009 MONTERO .

These are my personal verdict :

Exterior looks : Fortuner
Interior looks : Montero Sport
Ground clarance : Fortuner
Price : Montero Sport
Performance : Tie but probably the Fort is faster because its lighter but MS is SPortronic also thus more fun to drive .
Safety : Tie

It was a tight comparison but I would end up buying the FORT compared to the Montero SPort . I am more of a LUXURY guy than being SPORTY . Though I never had the chance to test drive the 09 , hopefully in the near future para ma feel ang ride comfort . From what Ive heard , naay adjustments sa suspension sa Fort to improve its smoothness sa ride .

they are offering this promo kay ilisan na ang nawong ang uban... ang innova i facelift na i think, niya pwerte paman daghana stocks... marketing strategy... mao sad ni gibuhat sa taga honda sauna...gibarato ang 2006 CRV kay i facelift naman...

@ DIEHARD ... that is only a form of ADVERTISEMENT . Could be a marketing strategy also .

ANy autoobile manfacturer / dealer gets rid of its older models when the new comes in thru rebates and discounted MSRP's . Mapa facelift or wala , mapa minor or major .

if my info and eyes are correct mugawas ang 4x2 MS by 2nd quarter of 2009;no definite specifications seen. but i predict a Sportronic and a Manual Transmission Variant will be available.

i presume if mugawas ang MS 2.5 4x2, it is very likely to have the engine that is a whole lot higher than the fort.

waa dugaya pa pud oi... nganu e dugay kaha gawas sa mitsu? pariha ra sa ilang lancer mao na wa kau nahalin tungod sa 2.0 engine gawas pa lng na sila lower engine displacement para mka compete pod sila sa competitors.

test drive ko gahapon sa akong amigo nga nakakuha ug bag-o nga MS. Ok ang riding comfort, better than my brod's Fort labi na gyud dire sa cebu nga bati ug dan bisan ciudad na. But mas kusug ug pick up ang Fort labi na ma alanganin sa traffic. Mora man ug bug-at ang MS.

Compared to my Sta. Fe, mas refine ang riding comfort sa SF compared to MS because of what the people here said already. SF has a sedan like suspension while MS and Forts are basically trucks.

Legroom labi na sa third seat, ang MS morag naka bintaha sa Fort. Mas luag unya tan-aw nako ang extra space at the back sa MS ok kaayo compared to the Fort. But between my SF and the MS, ang legroom sa SF mas OK. Gagmay ug third seats ang MS compared to SF. But my SF has almost no space after the third seat which the MS has a big advantage. Unya ang length sa MS mora man taas kaayo.
