ahh, kana diay. yes its just a simple portrait, i don't like to do criticisms but it has something to do with "commercial photography" thing. Even how good you are or how good your product can be, the company that hired you wants something thats EASY for the public (especially we are in the philippines) to understand. If you are the company's marketing head whats more important to you? Photography? or MORE SALES?

of course, you paid for the photographer, you paid for the ad agency and paid for the billboard space... bawi-on gyud na. So, pang masa gyud ang ang padolngan. Recently, one of my photographer friend had this experience. If photographer ka, maka ingon gyud ka, "OMG! ngano dili man sila ani? and gusto man sila ug baduy?". An amazing photograph (well balanced highlight and shadows, well processed), ila gi deny... coz they want something with flat lighting and a red glow at the back of the subject.

meaning hes really got nothing to do with the overall concept, nagshoot ra jud siya?surely dako dako sad ang pay

the photographer has his own concept, composition, lighting etc of course... but the Ad agency / corp client has their own too. Depende na sa sabot, sometimes they'll meet halfway or follow what the photographer cocept or the photographer will follow what his client wants... big pay, small pay or no even NO PAY is possible. One reason why wala kaau ko nag shoot ug commercial. Hehehe...
