Extreme cases for alternative emergency use? hehehe

Try to face the panels with confident... look at the bright side. This can be damn full waste of time and money, useless horrible project ever made in your school? (I guess not)...

You are assuming that on the near future you can have this following:

    1. Extensive wireless connection or faster and better than 802.11g?
    2. New mobile phones? at speed of Ghz?

These products may come soon on the market, at least somewhere in past somebody has/begun implementing to run this kind of applications.

You know how Microsoft struggles to communicate those hardware vendors like INTEL, NVIDIA? That as soon as they release their new application there will be an equivalent hardware to run their system. Think about what happen to Vista? To enjoy sidebars one must have widescreen, to enjoy aero desktop, one must have good cpu/graphics performance.

What happen was, at the time they released the software, end users were not on its latest PCs (tech). Now with fast cpu’s like core2quad would likely run their system in no time. How about 2 or 3 years from now? Just like how Windows XP had made on its history… releasing a win128? triple the cpu, double the bus? hehehehe

At this rate, people might think your mobile phone’s webserver sux…. Again, time travels forward… people think innovations, SCIENTIST, ENGINEERS, people invent a useless product that leads to a new ideas and made useful in the future.

In the first place, as a student, you deserved some recognition for making a project. Hehehe at least it won't harm to anyone just like how those scientist invented the atomic bomb, where it could destroy the world they are living.

    keep it up...

You are misunderstanding the question. The question probably means why make web services mobile not why make web servers mobile.

Your title and your problem statement are contradicting.
    I'll take vern's point.

I suggest you read about Mobile Web Initiative
    W3C Mobile Web Initiative

well, mga bai... my point is like this.... example ra ni ha...

    get an installer for apache...

get a PDA or a smart phone....

    make an HTML web page...

install the apache on your PDA or smart phone...

then put you html web page on your PDA's localhost...

    get the PDA's IP...

go to your PC and access your web page on your PDA via its IP...

and tadang........ your stupid PDA web server is now up and running....

    hahahha,.....

mao na ako pasabot mga bai.....

it's like mobile web hosting, I see. But don't focus more on the downside of your project. Focus more on the advantages you will get for that kind of service(s). I suggest you take vern's point.

@tynum: I suggest, you use other web server software. Apache is too heavy for a mobile device unless you know how to load the needed modules only. Try considering these softwares: lighttpd and/or Nginx
