i don't think your parents are all that powerful to convince your employer to terminate you from work (unless they own the company. if you're above 18, i'm sure your boss - family friend or not - will talk to you directly and will not make any quick decisions).

resignation is voluntary. your choice. your decision.

if you cannot live without your parent's support, aw, kawat kawat nalang if you really love the person you're with. pray nalang pod that your family will understand you in due time (or pray that you will be able to understand their point).
