    racist diay siya.....toinks....
just because we Filipinos are poor it doesn't mean we're not PEOPLE...
but yeah it's true, there are alot of things that we should improve on..but it doesn't give him the right to step on our dignity....
maybe his place is beautiful, physically,...but hey... look at their culture....daghan ang mas buang sa ilaha...mas wa'y ayo hahahahahahahhha bitaw...
i don't think he's got the right to say that to you..considering that you're part of the race he hates...

What a downright-no-horseshit comment from an ordinary tourist who doesn't know anything of our history and culture. I believe those are what he saw and frankly those were true. We can't blame him for his remarks about women being our major tourism, it's apparently the top results when you google "Filipina" or sometimes even "Philippines". The list goes on and we can only say some of it is true but he's just a fat a**hole racist for us.

The point is: his comments were the results of what he apparently saw and experienced here. A similar thing when a filipino goes to Sudan or Burma and sees something "un-homely" consequently will comment about the gory and unpretty situations there.

Are we to whine about it? No, let's do everything we can and improve our homeland. Let's make a more beautiful and peaceful place for us to live. Let's eradicate the ugly things: corruption, passivity, indifference, indolence, mediocrity, and apathy.

Now, why do we market the Filipinos as domestic helpers, nurses, construction workers, laborers, mail-order brides, again?

well, i think lyf ryt now n d phils. s not that easy, if we have a chance
n going abroad we grab it rytaway, but the real truth is lyf abroad also s not that easy
and hapy, its just same in the phil. we have to suffer and sacrifice for us to live and earn a living.

I strongly agree with Jaeyoun Kim (Korean)
to him - "I strongly believe that the problem is the lack of love for the Philippines."

May God bless this beautiful country. May we be enlightened to do more for our country and not just thinking about ourselves all the time.

My everyday agonies as a filipino ^_^

he is a looser. with a capital "L" on his forehead.
I dont think he is a racist. He's just a Loser.

Basing only from his comments and your first post.
    these are what i observe
    1. he looks at the worst side of the situation
    2. lacks the belief that we could change
    3. loose hope in the future
    4. takes opposing view in any positive conversation
    5. unable to make uplifting comments about yourself or others
    6. have nothing good to say about others
    7. complain about the inequities of life
    8. resist altering his way of thinking, because he feels nothing will help or make a difference.
    9. that LIFE should be fair, simple, and easy

    [b]The effects?
    1. try nothing else because you'll feel that you will fail.
    2. loose hope.
    3. worthless, incompetent, ignorant, useless
    4. overwhelmed, overpowered, defenseless
    5. self-pitying, self-loathing, self-deprecating
    6. don't enjoy life and get depressed when we think about our future.
    7. don't accept alternative solutions to problems.
    8. that we are not "fun" persons
    9. "declaration of our worthlessness'' and he fail to see any value in the criticism.
    10. don't take steps to improve your self-esteem and self-worth
    11. gives up in anything we do to improve ourselves.
    12. fulfills the prophecy that "we'll never succeed in anything we try.''

Where does all these negativity leads you to?
    1. that you will never be successful
    2. that we filipinoes cant do anything right
    3. that we will never change
    4. that no matter how much we try, it doesnt make any difference and they wont recognize the changes
    5. there's no reason to have hope for the future
    6. no matter how much we change, its never enough
    7. It's always the same: the rich get richer and the poor get poorer.
    8. Nothing in life is certain except for death and taxes.
    9. Our destiny is predetermined; We'll never be able to change it.
    10. that you are a looser!

    to wifey
Think nga, you're going abroad for the future of your child, not because life in Philippines is ugly.
Understand that your husband just want better opportunities for your son. Dont be a loser and stop making excuses.

I believe your husband is right. In fact he hit the bulls eye, the only problem with that is he is too pessimistic. He sees the fact in the negative side of the coin. No country has no problems, even the superpower of the world (U.S.A). Every nations has its own set of problems to face day-by-day. They succeed on solving many of these problems because of the resources they posses but still fails on some (remember the 9/11 incident?).

Let's posses a positive mental attitude. It helps to keep us alive and, not to mention, sane.
