    how biased can we be?
you cannot call the "white guy" a racist just because he said those things (Except number 12).
    Indeed, reality bites!
Instead of calling him a "racist", shouldn't we be ashamed of what he observed?
You call them that, yet, everyone is dying to leave the country!
I just wish people would stop their delusions of going abroad instead of helping our own.

part of it sakto man.... sakit i-accept but that's how i see our society today... but even though we're living like hell, we filipino's still manage to be happy and contented with what we have, and still continue to strive harder to live a better life....

    Hmmmm. . .

Poverty is everywhere and it doesn't exclude your husband's country, too. There are people who lives in the park, too and they do burn the garbage just to stay warm especially during winter. I'll say your hubby is just pessimist rather than an optimist.

Reality bites or so they say, the points you mentioned are indeed true. No matter how hard it is to swallow, I admit as a Filipino, it did exists in our country. But, despite and inspite all these (poverty), he(your hubby) failed to see through it. He failed to see our spirit. . . the spirit that gives us the reason to smile in the midst of all these hardships. Our spirit that never gives up no matter what the circumstances are. . .

    NOYPI!

I once came across a British national giving basic medical lectures (CPR etc.) to nursing students in one of the towns in Cebu. He said the local hospital, which had the word Hospital in its name, was not a hospital but merely a clinic which in every sense was true. Everyone laughed. But I'm pretty sure there are a couple of those who laughed who's going to build a better hospital someday, or his children or his children's children. Something might be true, or a fact, but it doesn't make it unchangeable.

The difference between that guy and your husband is that the former sees but tries to do something about it, and the latter only sees then talks with a distasteful tongue.

We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are.

Pagbantay gyud dai. Be careful and be mindful of your safety. Sleep with only one eye closed. Bahala nalang sige niya daoton ang Pinas, ang importante mag careful ka that no physical harm comes to you.

People.. do not get riled up. Obviously dili ni tinuod.

WHITE FOLKS would never EVER look down on RICE and FISH. First off.. FISH is relatively expensive sa states. Salmon costs at least $4/lb. Compare that to $2 per pound of Pork Shoulder or Ground Beef ?? A 25lbs bag of rice is 20$. Second... ever heard of SUSHI?
