There is always this hush-hush of changing our country's name.

Ex-Pres Marcos once proposed to changed it to Maharlika.

Well, I would agree to change our country's name because we have been named after a murderer: King Phillip of Spain.

I like the name Maharlika though. So we can call our country Maharlika Islands and we will be Maharlikans. COOL!

Any suggestion?

"May dugong maharlika." I've heard of that phrase being subjected to gay people.

It means 'royal blood' right? And it kind of rhymes with Sparta (This.. is.. Maharlika!!!) so it might actually be a good move.
