Iphone 3G help.... no signal !

Hope you guru's here can help me. I just bought an Iphone 3G in hongkong. Insserted my postpaid smart sim and it worked well in HK. Except no data yet ( i assumed I needed to get back to Philippines to do the configurations). I arrived in manila and stayed for a few hours there. It worked perfectly.

What baffles me, is as soon as I land in cebu, I insert same sim card and it says "No Sim Card Inserted".

tried a hard reboot and still nonee

I need help please. I Can take it to your house or shop and I'm willing to pay for your services.

are you using a x-sim or turbo sim that you will put together with your smart sim

when I bought it I had two choices... one had to have an attachment on the sim. but told with this process of unlock, i cannot install installer or cydia. so i bought the other one instead which was unlocked with cydia already. no need for an attachment on sim.

it worked in manila but now it does not work here in cebu.

help please!

hmm i think you had it updated to an official 2.1 firmware or had your carrier settings updated.

no i did not do a firmware update.

by updating carrier settings what do you mean? I was trying to configure the settings with smart but couldn't get it done. that was about it. and now "no sim installed". Well, I'm waiting for the sim adapter. hope that works.

by the way, anyone have the settings for SMART ?

just use sim fooling device or adapter...

in iTunes, you will be prompted to "Download Carrier settings" or something similar
