If we can harness energy through other means aside from oil, then the demand for oil will lessen, and as a result the prices will be lowered to pump up the demand. That's basically the Law of Supply and Demand. The rise and fall on the price of oil hangs on the balance with the creation of the alternative sources of energy.
There you said it, "the law of supply and demand", if demand is low-prices may go down "to attract demand". now, in relation to the thread starter, if demand for Shell and Caltex goes down, then they may lower their prices to "attract demand". this could happen. You're correct that the BEST way is to have an alternative source, but as of now, we don't have any.

Now, what you're saying about all these alternative sources is great! No problem with that, that's all good news man!! But what's with the "anti-arroyo - pro-arroyo" that you're talking about? That's not theĀ* purpose of this thread, this thread is to campaign that we try to boycott fuel companies by forcing a price war (hopefully) that could pull back prices or at least slow down increases.

Yes, I went out of topic by showing my personal sentiments of dismay to the gov't., which may have triggered the loyalist in you to further go OT, but please let's stick to the topic and the campaign and hope this simple strategy will work.

THOSE WHO HAVE JUST OPENED THIS THREAD PLEASE READ THE THREAD STARTER. THANKS.

Actually riko, I did not stop you on your plan, if you will read back I even wished you luck. I just honestly don't think that that plan is effective, but I mentioned this before and I'll say it again that it's worth a try.

Regarding with the "anti-arroyo, pro-arroyo" comments, dont worry, I'LL ASSURE YOU THAT THOSE COMMENTS ARE NOT FOR YOU BUT FOR THOSE WHO ARE JUST TOO PESSIMISTIC IN THIS GOVERNMENT, THEY KNEW WHO THEY ARE. I even put asterisks as separator between my reply to you and to my other comment. peace out bro and I wish you luck..
