Well, correct me if I’m wrong, I think DataGridView is not hierarchical as what .NET 1.x functionality used to have. It is stated on the document:

The only feature that is available in the DataGrid control that is not available in the DataGridView control is the hierarchical display of information from two related tables in a single control. You must use two DataGridView controls to display information from two tables that are in a master/detail relationship.

    Download this FAQ:
    http://www.windowsclient.net/Samples...View%20FAQ.doc

You may not read it all but try not to miss on the topic: 1.1 Differences between the DataGridView and DataGrid controls.

The author does not mentioned about memory such as HttpHandlers or some big files, which one of the reason I guess why they revised… if memory is not an issue, especially if you try to include some photos in the future, or huge data to fetch then go for old DataGrid if you want and read this Display Images in a DataGrid Directly from Memory ... I don’t know if it works though. You can further ask in MS forum regarding DataBinding Windows Forms Data Controls and Databinding - MSDN Forums and for me the old DataGrid seems look ewww...

Another option is try to find some Third Party:

    Hierarchical DataGridView - Free Trial

    or

CompletIT Community Server - DGVE problems with displaying data
    http://www.completit.com/Storage/DGVE_1_1_13Feb2008.zip

This is a nice work around though, I'll going to try it sometimes... GOODLUCK...
