I think yugi means that he turns off the UPS when he's not using the PC.

I just leave the UPS on all the time cause its charge controller should automatically turn off the battery charging when it's full. I'm not sure if keeping the UPS battery trickle charged will improve its lifespan vs. turning the UPS off when not in use.
