    wow...kainit ba ani thread...

ask lang naku si EZRA...bai kanang imong notes about montero what year model mana siya gi based?...

is it based on the all new montero nga nigawas ngari sa amo... kay if dili so it means malalis nana karon..

kay every new look sa car sometimes ang carmakers usbon sad ang mga previous problems... or kung sa sa net pa bug fixes...hehehe

about sa car stereo: asa man mo kita ug laing audio brand nga if maguba ilisan ug bag-o basta under warranty pa... only in toyota/fujitsu ten....

  3. #133
@ajol - bai kanang ayaw sad kaayo dauta ang toyota... toyota migamit ug shall we call it low end types of materials because kay ila target kay ang consumers...whom mga filipino nga dili pareha sa mga kano ug hapon na kapalit ug sakyanan kung gustuhon. kahinundum ko nagtour mi sa toyota... ingon ang nagtour namu na ang CRDi kay almost any carmakers kay pareha ra ug design or mechanism or technology in applying the so called CRDi, naglahi nalang sa performance sa engines ug ofcourse sa design sa engines...

he said na best deisel engine is isuzu gyud... no doubt about it... but in terms of RELIABILITY and DURABILITY ang toyota daw...wahahaha (NAKATAWA KO UG DAKU)....

@predo - yes ang toyota hapit gyud ma no. 1 kay ofcourse... toyota is one of the largest carmakers in the world... ikaw ba kunoy daghan ug market sa tibuok kalibutan di kaha ka ma no. 1?...
niya about ang mitsubishi dili kaayo sila sikat abroad kay, if kahibaho mo... nagka financial crisis na ang mitsubishi, they even sell some of thier shares sa Hyundai arun lang makasurvive sa market... remember ang L300 van, nganong wa man gihapon ni ma facelift?... kay tungod na sa problema sa mitsubishi sauna... ang comeback car sa mitsubishi where they stablished a different look at their company is the MITSU STRADA... and tan-awa unsay nahitabo... very successful ang strada because they have the financial capabilities already to design and supply quality made cars... OK PREDO?... all cars kay gi design na for reliability and durablity... so its better to say na parehas ra sad na silang duwa

    Hi EZRA,

Just a point of fact. The resale values of cars in the USA does not reflect the resale values of cars here in the Philippines. Sometimes, the figures mirror between here and the USA but you have to take note that the Montero is a V6 in the USA. This new model is a DIESEL and cars running on DIESEL normally take a different route in ASIA-PAC countries in terms of resale. They normally hold up very well.

The USA market is really not really a market in play for Mitsubishi. In fact, they ranked lowest among the big jap manufacturers. Nissan is like a mountain compared to Mitsubishi. That could also explain why MOST Mitsubishi's have lousy resale values. Out of sight out of mind I guess.

The Prado is due for a complete face lift. I wish they would go more in the way of a Lexus RX but I think it will be more in line with the GX... Hopefully they get that out in the Philippines fast! (Did you guys know that the Prado being sold here is MADE IN CHINA) YUP! Infact, the first batch of smuggled Prado's, GAS ENGINE 4cylinders cost only 15k++ USD. (Provided you can get a tax free exemption in China for export purposes...)

I really am contemplating on the Montero but still thinking if I need a car or an SUV. Tough choices... As for the Fortuner, lets just say, it was soooo cool when it came out but really, disappoints when it comes to performance and build. Its sooo HILUX. Ride included. The Altierra (correct me if my spelling is wrong) is a much better car in ride and performance. No doubt about it Isuzu Diesel engines are better than the rest. (Been an Isuzu Pick-up buyer since 91)

Going to have a look at the Montero tomorrow at SM and will have a look at it!

The FORTUNER is really so HILUX because of the chassis it shares are the same . Mao bitaw mas cheaper ag FORTUNER compared sa RAV4 because basically the FORT is a TRUCK !

On the other hand ..... a new model , new engine would be scary also . Wala pa nahibaw-i ang potential problems or common headaches ana and yes I am talking about the new MONTERO SPORT .

Regarding sa RESALE VALUE ... it may not share the same insights sa USA but really it shares the same MARKET VALUE in the real MARKET no matter where you are . Indeed MITSUBISHI shares the qualities of higher end Korean cars now and that is sad because I am actually a big fan of the 4G92T and 4G63T !!

    To put things into perspective....

Both Fortuner and Montero are "SUV" looking vehicles dressed up to look like their high end counterparts... Prado/Landcruiser and Pajero.

Fort / Hilux / Innova share the same chasis .. don't expect an SUV luxury ride on these cars especially with the price.

The fact is... the real Off road SUV's of before have become so expensive that most people can't afford them anymore... so car manufacturers adapt by making low cost but nice looking vehicles that they pass off as SUV's.

This is a similar strategy as katong AUV's sauna where Toyota engineers visited the Philippines and toured the roads all over the country... when they went back to Japan...result was the Tamaraw FX... which later became the Revo and then the Van looking Innova.... in effect Poor man's SUV... the AUV... karon, mas discriminating na ang taste sa tao and daghan na mas naay kaya...so from AUV... upgrade na sila to crossover vehicles... so something in between an AUV and a full fledged SUV... mao na nang Fortuner / Montero.
