hasta ka pila man balik-balikon bago masabtan. we don't give out warnings, kung naa man gani warning discretion na sa mods or sa admin. the mods are doing their job policing the boards as they see fit.

here is a quote from vern from the other thread...with emphasis on the bold text.

This is our house, we look for the same behavior we'd expect from any good house guest. That means name-calling, personal attacks, spamming, excessive self-promotion, condescending pomposity, general assiness, racism, sexism, any-other-ism, homophobia, acrophobia, and destructive (versus constructive) criticism will get you bounced out of the party.

That said, we don't want to be cops, we want to have discussions. So we're not heavy-handed with the banhammer. We aim to keep open minds, we like to hear y'all express yourselves (even when we disagree with you or you're disagreeing with us), and we stay pretty lenient overall about what goes on in the threads. On a given day, we might let something pass because we're feeling generous. On other days, a lesser offense might rub us the wrong way. It's an inexact science, and the decisions are subjective, and we are humans. If a usercontacts us and tells us something really made him or her uncomfortable, we are more likely to ban/give infractions to the offender for a comment. We want this to be a safe and friendly place for everyone to be.

Commenting here is a privilege, not a right. This is our party, and our job is to be good hosts. Your job is to be good guests.

Do you ban readers who criticize moderators? Nope. We thrive on constructive criticism. We're always listening to what you have to say and trying to improve. If you think we were in the wrong, follow these steps:

1.) Remember that there are real-life, flawed humans behind this site.
2.) Outline, calmly and politely, what you feel the problem is privately with the moderator or through the admins and senior moderators. Public lash-outs generally don't get you anywhere. We correct inaccuracies, and we love to hear your opinion, good or bad. However, if your comment is a disrespectful teardown that doesn't help us learn or make us do better, you're out.

If you got an infraction, live with it, it isn't so bad. Only people who repeatedly break the rules should have any issue with infractions. People need to remind themselves that iSTORYA has thousands of users, the majority of them never receiving an infraction. Staying within the rules is not very hard.

Infractions will almost never be overturned. HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO YELL OUT LOUD THAT WE NEVER REQUIRE A MODERATOR TO INFORM PEOPLE WHEN GIVING GIFTS OUT? If a moderator overturns an infraction, that is a courtesy and nothing more. Admins do not have the time to track down individual infractions and review them. Admins trust moderators. Admins trust moderators to be human and can sometimes err. That is why they have been chosen as moderators.

I find myself forcing myself to stop because long posts like this which may be informative, generally aren't read by the people who need to read them. So I will end this here.
PLEASE! don't make mountains out of molehills. it has already been explained by bailey that the thread will be reinstated once everything is finalized by the core members of the organizing committee. unsa man ang lisud sabton ana?! kay ang thread mas daghan ang OT nga post kumpara sa tarong nga post, look at it on a positive note - maayo na lang gani gi lock kaysa gi delete.

Then again... like we said from the previous post.... Infraction the offenders...

"ang sala ni huwan ang kang huwang... dili kani labot sa tanan..."
AGAIN ... like I explained earlier (if you have the time, please review some of the messages posted). If we give out infractions to each and every offending post.. daghan ma muted or ma ban... now we can do that but there are more effective ways to get our point through... one is to immediately ban the offender without giving infractions... Another is to temporarily close the thread `til the message goes through. I have sent numerous infractions to the same people only to have them break the rules again.. posting OT's, taunting forum members, etc... some people are just too stubborn to understand. To some, infractions are enough pero dili tanan.

If you see people breaking the rules please make the effort of pointing that out to them para maka tabang sab mo sa site. Instead of whining to us about this and that - help us out para dili na kaayo mi mo moderate sa threads.

Di lang unta ta mamantay sa uban. Just so you know, daghan na diha ang daghan ug infractions unya some of them kay lifted na. Some are given infractions then mo apologize sa PM nya usahay I would lift them up `cause noticeable ang change nila when they post after sa infraction. Pero mao lagi, di lang gyud ta mamantay sa uban.

    from verns quotes:

2.) Outline, calmly and politely, what you feel the problem is privately with the moderator or through the admins and senior moderators. (Check no doubt about that... ^_^)

We thrive on constructive criticism. We're always listening to what you have to say and trying to improve. (yups this is what we are doing..^_^)

If you got an infraction, live with it, it isn't so bad. Only people who repeatedly break the rules should have any issue with infractions. ( give this to the offenders please....^_^)

If a moderator overturns an infraction, that is a courtesy and nothing more. (give this to the offenders please...^_^)

Admins trust moderators. Admins trust moderators to be human and can sometimes err. (yes we trust the mods thats why we are saying this to you and not to some forum members)

I couldn't say more...... ^_^ I'm just stressing the point that we trust you moderators thats why we are telling this to you.... we are not complaining... It's ok for us for it to be closed rules are rules..

we are just stressing a point.... not a complain.. thanks and have a good morning to all....^_^

    TEMPORARY CLOSURE = WARNING

temporary is not equal to permanent.
there's no simpler explanation than that.

    Everything's been said and done.
Posts are just going in circles.
I've had enough of all this drama.

Real quick before I have to go ...

If a thread becomes unmanageable, the best way to moderate it is to close it and have people posting in the thread start a new one. Simple. No arguing. I wouldn't even put up with users complaining their cute little thread got locked. There should never be temporary in most circumstances.

DILI PWEDE NEXT TIME. How old are you guys? 12? That you need a next time?

I'm going to put a new infraction level called "crying" because no matter how much I say again and again in different threads, people still feel like they need warnings. You whine, you get an infraction. Simple. This is not users pointing out where we went wrong, this is users trying to justify the breaking of rules with "newbie pa sila" and appeal that rules keep getting broken. None of the moderators have time to give infractions to everyone. The thread is simply locked.
