hhmmm... i have interviewed a of of nursing applicants and have asked them this question: was nursing your choice? most of them said this: NO - parents choice or decision, because if they won't take nursing, they were threatened that they cannot study college, and, that Nursing can take them abroad. I asked them a ff-up question - why call center, you have studied and had sleepless nights for this 4 year course and have invested a lot in terms of money, time and yourselves as well, and have passed the board, why call center. they said it's for practical reasons, bec of retrogression, bec of the scarcity of need for nurses in our local hospitals - they need now to help their families.
I personally don't have anything against people taking up nursing, my sister will graduate soon with this course. Maybe it would have been better if parents would have not been manipulative about it. Sayang kaayo ang hundresds of thousands of nursing grads nato nga wala dayon ka-landingan na trabaho s hospitals/clinics, med institutions. well wala sad ta kahibaw if one day, makatrabaho dyud as nurses ng atong mga nursing grads, pero mind you, in the call center I'm working with, in a day of recruiting people, esp kung job fairs namo, almost half of the applicants are nursing grads..

something to think about...
