The opposition got their empeachment after all... even w/ the defeat of the empeachment process at the congress... senate is doing what would had been the empeachment if it succeeded... The Senate started with its investigation into the wiretapping controversy, and the North Rail project that the opposition said was overpriced. Inquiries are set, too, on the raid in the house of opposition document expert Segundo Tabayoyong and the illegal numbers game "jueteng.". I think this is a empeachment process minus a judge from supreme court...

And the suspects for that wiretapping stuff whoever they maybe should be punished...

(UPDATE) PRESIDENTIAL spokesman Ignacio Bunye walked out in the middle of a budget hearing at the House of Representatives on Thursday after an opposition legislator began questioning the Palace official on controversial audiotapes.

“I seriously take exception to this kind of questioning. I believe the congressman is grandstanding,� an irate Bunye said, as he and his staff walked out from the House appropriations committee hearing.

Parañaque Representative Roilo Golez earned the ire of Bunye after the former administration solon asked about Bunye’s press statements on the wiretapping controversy that accuses President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo of vote fraud.

“This is not the proper forum, unless you are reviving [the issue],� said Bunye. “This is the budget hearing.�

Golez said he was just trying to ascertain if the President's spokesman was performing his job. Bunye responded that the House committee was not the proper body to gauge the affectivity of his performance.


But the pushy Golez continued with his line of questioning, and an angry Bunye responded: “I object to the questioning. I will not response further questions.�

Bunye was defending his department's proposed budget of 852 million pesos for 2006.
