You just can not motivate yourself for the sake of others.
You can not live your life for the sake of the others.

That would be a hell.
Unless you are terminally ill.
Even then, you have to teach everybody else to let you go.
Before you teach yourself to let them go yourself.

You have to live life with joy and pride of your own self.
You have to have dignity.
To motivate yourself is to challenge your self.

When Ninoy Aquino was dying with his hunger strike,
he received a letter from a priest(or a bishop) saying something like--
"To die is easy, to live is where the challenge lie". (or something like that).

But the idea is Ninoy was presented with a new challenge.
