you can choose, but gmail is using pop3 I think.. for yahoo mail plus, it won't work because you need to subscribe to yahoo mail plus..

shall we say i have successfully configured my mail box with gamil 100%. if someone will send mail to me now, will i be notified on the cp or only when i hook myself into internet thru the cp?

ok i configured mailbox using setup-wizard and gmail.

1) by default it does pop3. so i leave it as is. was able to download email, but cant send my reply and new mail.

2) modified the email setting by changing the access from pop3 to imap4. 2 attempts, with no port and the other using the default port (943 i guess). both i cannot download the email

you need a guide on what ports gmail uses.. search the web..
