guys i got a question.
about diy co2 is there something to regulate the rate of co2 comming out from the diffuser?
since i have a nano i noticed that the fishes remaining in my tank started to come up and gasping for air.

oh and by the way a recap of my experiment about eradication BGA from my tank.
so here's the deal i left 3 fishes in my tank just to see if there is any effect on the erothromycin
in just a day i can see that the BGA starts to fall off from the riccia and the results are promising will post pics soon and update whenever i can

oi, thats a very good sign that your experiment is working. kaluoy pud sa test fish.hahaha bitaw, careful anang mag gasp for air na ang fish, sobra ra ang CO2x. did you tried clamping the hose sa CO2? well, kuyaw sa build up pressure, pero ang akoa ok raman..

mostly sa riccia or glossostigma jud na mu grow ang BGA. because riccia and glosso loves nitrate. if you missed your ferts dosing regime like the macro n micro. im sure na hurut na imo kno3 tungud sa riccia nimo. if u test your water parameters basin zero na imo nitrate. pag blockout nlng for 3 days then after put kno3 to prevent BGA.

I wouldnt recommend regulating the pressure coming from DIY co2 as it *might* explode. But some have tried clamping the co2 hose and have not experienced any unfortunate experiences (but there are horror stories on the net regarding DIY co2). hehehe.

Try to have some circulation at the water's surface to gas out the excess dissolved CO2. Or make the reactor/diffuser less efficient i.e., place the diffuser closer or midway to the water surface or away from the filter intake.

OR disconnect the co2 at night when the fish are only gasping early morning.

Even if your plants are pearling like mad, high levels of dissolved co2 can still cause suffocation.

Whoops. theres one more thing i failed to consider. Did you see the fish gasping only after you dosed the antibiotics?

if so, it might also be ammonia posioning. Antibiotics will destroy the bacteria responsible for the oxidation of ammonia.
