mitsubishi ang very diligent mu calibrate ug mu emulation...plus dali sad mahuman ang trabaho coz naa permi ang tagiya...sa fuji ok man sad kung maka timing ka, pero naa panahon na labad sila nya dugay mahuman mao mas mu prefer ko sa mitsubishi. labad sa usahay ang fuji kung di kaauyon sa print, inig reprint pwerting dugaya hulat usab...permi sad ko kaagi na akong print gi modify before printing hibong lang ko ngano ni hayag even though i have standing orders na no alterations. mao mu prefer ko ron sa mistubishi. coz calibrated man sad gud akong monitor so dapat no need for any alterations na.

if you can spare the time, pwedi ninyo atagan ang printing para perfect gyud. (fuji and mistubishi)
as for colors, i dont think they allow (normally) clients seeing the process. huwat gyud ka gawas til printing is done.

adobe gamma is not the same as spyder in calibration...
adobe gamma is just software trying to "guess" the right output signal to the monitor that will give the most accurate colors. it can not see what our eyes see. our eyes even plays tricks on us sometimes...perception sa lain2x tao lahi rabah. specially if certain colors are displayed along side another color. thats why lahi ra gyud ang hardware calibrator kay dili bias.

spyder is hardware and software combination. the hardware reads/detects the actual color output of the monitor (you place that in front of the monitor) and makes the appropriate adjustments on the software side when red is actually red and so forth.

among the bunch, spyder is one of the cheapest hardware/software monitor calibrator in the market today.

monitors also change display over time. it is recommended by spyder to recalibrate every 2 weeks for best possible accuracy. in my case i recalibrate every month or so.

    agree ko nimo mark.
pero sa mitsubishi sm ko tigpaprint.

regards to display calibrator like spyder or the one i am using Gretagmacbeth it has an option to do ROOM LIGHTING COMPENSATION. very nice feature incase u want to turn off ur office lights mo adjust/compensate ra ang monitor automatically. this has options to do types of output WARM, NEUTRAL, COOL & contrast Low Medium High.

a Must have gyud if u do printing your photos.
as to raise a standard best you get calibrator for your monitor(s).

Legally speaking... using Spyder is A LOT CHEAPER than ADOBE GAMMA. You can buy Spyder3Elite (i'm happy with mine) for around 13-15k or Spyder3Pro for less than 10k... do you know how much a single user license of Adobe Photoshop cost? PM if gusto mo order ha...

kung di kaayo complex imong needs ok ra mata-mata ..guestimate

unless you do products shots from a cosmetics company ...

cherry red, tomato red, apple red, blood red, and all sorts of red. .. then kinahanglan na jud ka ug hardcore na calibrator.

and the lessons i learned dealing with this kind of problem is to remember numerical values r=232,g=243,g=212 etc... sometimes the difference are very minimal .. just 5-8 percent cyan, but then it's very critical to cosmetics company. but for a portrait? do you really thing the client will notice if it's a bit saturated?

hardly you can find a very very good monitor with good color calibration builtin .. the last one i've used before is barco color calibrator w/c is a very huge monitor (29") that costs around 2Million in pesos that time (as far as i can remember, peso to a dollar is about 25).

it's really hard to calibrate specially lcd's on laptop as when you shift your viewing angles, the contrast/gamma change ... but still the color info stays the same.

as long as you've got the values right on the part of image you wanted to retain, dont worry. you can pass your file around various devices and still the color/contrast shift will be minimal -- that's what sRGB cie churva ek-ek for.

guys guys...let's get back to the topic.

it's not about which calibrator or which monitor is better but the question is what is an economical way to calibrate.

  8. #18
All i can think of is Adobe Gamma.. naa pai lain easier way?

  9. #19
if we talk "easier way" spyder...

if we talk "economical way" spyder gihapon...

photoshop CS3 = around 50k in pesos. but it doesnt have Adobe Gamma in it! hahaha! Adobe Gamma bundled with CS2, around the same price as CS3 but not available anymore... we don't want to talk about pirated stuffs here...

economical way.. my way is the most cheapest.
Gretagmacbeth same makers of Eye-One Display 2 and other calibration gadgets.
