I guess you mingled with the wrong group of pinoys bai. Mga na barkada nako sa Florida ug diri sa New York di man gyud ingon ana. Mura ra gihapon mig naa sa Pilipinas. We spend our weekends together.. BBQ, Inom, tagay, Storbot.. same as how things are back home. Diri sab sa New York, kami nilang OMAD - mao man lang gihapon. Way daghang libog.

I've been to Chicago a few times.. I actually went snowboarding around there although their ski resorts aren't that great (nearby WISCONSIN). Naa koy amigo diha bai sige'g duwa ug airsoft even sa winter. Dunno ug hilig ka ana - if you are, hatagan tikag number niya.

It's really up to the person on how they see things here and how they adapt to it. Of course, in the real world - we all try to take our piece of a huge pie... we work our butt off, pay taxes, and enjoy the fruits of our labor during the weekends. Pero to most people sa Pilipinas, kuwang ra na. They work - pay taxes (only to find it's way to the pocket of a crooked politician) and then they hardly have enough money left to at least enjoy a 12 pack of beer on one Saturday night.
Don't get me wrong, maayo man ako barkada diri as well as my workmates and alumni frat brods mura ra sad gyud mi ug naa sa Pilipinas. I was speaking generally about the common pinoy to pinoy encounter. That's the reason mamili gyud ko ug kuyog diri. Daghan sad ko ug relatives all over U.S. kanang first-degree relatives gyud.

You are right that we enjoy the fruits of our labor during weekends and mingle with friends pero lahi ra gyud and after shopping and suroy-suroy nothing more na gyud, diha na lang gyud kutob at the end of the day somehow there is still that empty spot even how well we adjusted and sometimes we even talk among our friends about that "empty spot" ang kuwang ba. hahaha!!!

    You mean si MaiMai?

    Yeah si MAI MAI -

I know what you're talking about bai. And you're definitely right - naa gyuy kuwang. But that doesn't mean that we can't have what we had back then, diba? Among grupo sa Florida, mura ra gyug naa mi sa Cebu - and hopefully kaning akong bag-ong grupo diri sa New York mapareha ra sab.. so far payts man sab mi diri.

Great exchange of discussion @EZRA and Lytslpr.
I've been here in the U.S. for more than 2 years now.
Ako ra isa diri, no family nor friends from back home.
Naa pud koy mga kaila nga mga pinoy, but they grew up or if not was born here, so lahi ra jud ug kinaiya.
Up to now i guess im still trying to fit in and adjust sa way of life.
Pero happy ra man pud ko, i have my routine going.
Mostly its the gym after work, and by the time i get home, bed time na.
Come weekend, usually i just sleep in all morning, hapon gym nasad and sa gabii motambay nalang ug Borders mag basa2x and tanaw2x ug mga chicks hehe.
Then mag movie marathon sa balay.
Sundays i usually would just do house chores, simba, nya mag internet.
Lahi ra jud baya, i really miss cebu, and my barkada.
Sakto pud ka Ezra, i'm a bit of an introvert, and i guess that kinda plays a role and how im adapting to life here.
Overall tho, its all good. I really can't complain.
I'm blessed with a good job w/ a good pay, and good location, and great coworkers.

Kinsa tong mga bisaya nga naa sa bay area, or better yet, in sacramento, ca.. HOLLER!

If you want bai, tagaan tikag number.

PM lang nako if you want one of my friend's number.
