i stayed in bahay-bakasyonan, nicer didto kay coastal man and a few miniute ra from mambajao so accesible ra kaayo. ang problema sa camiguin highlands kay ang transportation, but duol ra sya sa katibawasan falls.

The best ang Camiguin.. The first time I went there, I felt as if I was not in the Philippines... The backdrop of a small island with a big volcano is so nice to see sa barko palang daan..

I'll post my own pics soon..

    The island tour. Wheeeeeee……………

We started on the WHITE ISLAND, a surprising stretch of white sandy bar ten minutes from the brown-sanded shore of Agoho. I was lucky to be seated up-front; even saw a 2-foot sea turtle which dove under our motorized banca with just a meter from us. I thought it was just a thatch of sea weeds until it moved. A nice add-on to the escapade! I soaked up the sun on that islet, too bad I didn’t bring my goggles but the salty dip was refreshing. Everybody took turns in shooting pics & being shot at. It was picture perfect: white sands, glaring sun, calm azure seas, and the mountains of Camiguin on the background… made me realize modeling is not that easy heheheheee…

We were brought to the site of the Stations of the Cross, which rose up the heights of Mt. Vulcan. This is the site of the famous PANAAD FESTIVAL during Holy Thursday & Good Friday. We only got to the first station (time pressure and all *sigh). Spent 15 minutes in the local tiangge for souvenirs and pasalubongs, then moved on.

Next stop was the SUNKEN CEMETERY (or what was left of it). Not much to see, just the marker of what was once to be the cross jutting out of sea level. It would have been better had the tide been out……… Oh, well.

The ruins of GUIOB CHURCH in Cota Bato (the once-capital of the island) were located just a few meters away. Reminders of the holocaust Mt. Vulcan spew in 1871; the church suffered the same fate as the cemetery. It is now half-buried in earth & grime.

A quick stop on the coastal highway southwest of the island gave a perfect view of Camiguin’s skyline: Hibok-hibok Volcano, Tres Marias, Mt. Mambajao and Mt. Timpoong.

Twists & turns, up & down ragged terrain brought us to the STO. NIÑO COLD SPRING. I had a quick (chilling!) dip then joined the group to feast on coconut juice freshly harvested from the nearby tree. Pastoral…

Try checking that Travel Agency at Robinsons Mall..

Camiguin packaged tour.. Average price is P2,000..

Includes 3D/2N at Bahay Bakasyunan, free daily breakfast, free tour, etc... DOES NOT INCLUDE fare though pero no problem na since barato ra kaayo ang Super Shuttle Ferry to Camiguin... (murag P300++ man siguro ang one way.)
