I never heard about that, and I am pretty sure its not true, LCD's are more durable than CRT's yet its more fragile.

LCD wont hurt when you change the contrast and brightness however it would definitely consume a high electricity. But mostly LCD's are in default setting so no need for you to set anyway, and I prefer to set to default.
Pero naa sakto nga settings ana like using Video Essentials nga HD/DVD disc to correct everything from contrast to brightness and colors.

Laptop CCFL aren't the same household flourescent lamps. if naguba dayon ang lcd sa new nga laptop, timing lang yan...

have you ever though why PentiumII and PIII generation laptops are still up? good condition pa lagi ang screen..

If nakatiming ka ug defective or semi defective lamp sa imong new laptop, it will likely to fail in a short time, shorter than you have expected.

more brightness = more power consumption...

and some large display cellphones share the same lamp as laptops have, gamay lang jud.

cellphone back lights are LED, based on my 6 years of experience as cellphone technician.
