    Corolla cars aren't good with accelaration, though i have a Corolla myself. i'd dump it for a Civic.

    The Altis 1.8 is pretty good. Although not up to par with the 2.0 variants from the Civic and new Lancer. Wish we have the US-specced 2.4 liter 158 HP Corolla though

    i'd say power wise, nothing beats the Civic.

    the 140-hp, 1.8-liter, 16-valve is golden in city driving.

    both models are pretty good on gas though, that i can say.

    Practical = Toyota
    Status symbol = Civic

    Toyota Altis is designed not to compete wid the civic. They designed it to be more of a luxury vehicle not a sporty vehicle. Because if they designed it to be sporty dali ra ma luma. Wen ni gawas ang civic na luma ang mazda karon ni gawas naman ang lancer let see what happens kung tinood ba ang taga toyota.

    Quality, Technology of the units at par lang.

    I go for toyota because of the parts availability and i work in toyota. heheheh

    How can the Altis be designed as a luxury vehicle when in fact pang taxi man na.

    Camry is considered luxury for toyota, not Altis. Altis will never be considered a luxury vehicle

    They merely designed the Corolla to be a more conventional vehicle (simple dash design, nothing sports car-looking, windshield front and back are not different from any other regular cars currently on the road, all the buttons and switches and aircon vents are right where they are supposed to be, a bit of conservative design, no innovative external and interior design, seats are comfy) in other words, gi design siya para pang masa, easy to drive around.
