Hi All

For internet browsing needs, Linux is more than sufficient. There are a lot of browsers to choose from (I use FireFox, even on Windows PCs), instant messaging (GAIM. Chikka support is even available), IRC, etc. Haven't tried running games on Linux though.

If you're really keen on trying Linux, I suggest you try Live CD distribution. You simply download the iso image, write it on a blank cd, and then boot from that cd. Presto! You have a working Linux OS without having to install anything on your PC. I personally use the SLAX distribution. I've tried it on lots of PCs already, and it works.

I strongly suggest to the ce-gnu-lug community to hold an introductory seminar, to spread Linux awareness here in Cebu. I'm sure a lot of people are interested, especially internet cafe owners.
