my experiences on buying 2nd hand body... hope this helps.


1.) don't expect that it will last you for 4 years .. if you can get a good 2 years out of it, it's still a good deal.

2.) camera rarely breaks. if it does, the shutterbox will be the first in line.

3.) shutterbox cost around 8K from Canon Philippines. if you're nikon user, good luck!

4.) expect cash outlay of 20K for body and 8k for shutterbox. THAT IN EVENT THAT YOUR SHUTTERBOX GONE SOUTH!

5.) even a 2nd hand one, you will still get beyond 20,000 clicks as long as you wont shot most at 1/2000+ before the shutterbox fails.

6.) lcd hardly breaks, digic processor hardly breaks, body hardly breaks -- but when it does, canon is just a phone call away!

Shutter gyud ma-una... malengthen pud ang life if you only use single shot mode. =)) 8k is a good enough investment in case the shutter breaks because you have now a brandnew shutter. =))

i recommend this and any 2nd hand 400D out there over a brand new nikon d40/40x
