Cellphone and PDA Beware sa SM turn off ur bluetooth

Hi guys!

Yesterday me and my gf are in the SM then when we eat on the Food court. ang Cellphone sa akong Gf na N70 nka on ang bluetooth. naa btaw na ni send nya ug (.sis) na file...i dont remember na filename. then after opening ni kalit lang Install. after ato Mo HANG-up njd.. d nasad mo gana ang Power Button. ang amo g-himo g-tang2x ang Bat. pra mo off.

Beware jd guys...turn off your bluetooth...in sm or on the other mall....

It's Ok to turn your Bluetooth On as long as naka "Hidden"mode lng.unsaon nlang paggamit imo Bluetooth Headset kun naka Off ni?The 'WORST' Threat nga inyo bantayan sa mga Bluetooth Enabled Phones nyo is not the Virus Infection..but the Bluetooth Hacker..kay tanan nga info nga naa sa imo cell makuha na nya,it can even make calls using your cell.and the worst thing pa,they can listen to your phone conversation w/o you knowing it..it's like spying on you,using your own cell via Bluetooth.see the demo sa YouTube titled Bluetooth Hacking..So 'Beware' mga Bro.

I prefer I-ON if you want someone to send you a message para maki'g socialize lang using your bluetooth.. ^_^

i keep my bluetooth on all the time to connect to my equipments...
set it to HIDDEN or NONE DISCOVERABLE mode para walay samok...

and why would you open the file...delete it if you receive it...or reject it before accepting it...simple!
it wont harm your phone if you DONT OPEN the file...

or get a newer phone. n73 and up di naman na mu work ang viruses.
n70 and lower raman ang ma-apekohan sa virus.

pocket pc doesnt get affected by sis programs/virus...

I leave mine on on both phones for my bluetooth headset and set them to hidden. What this does is ang naka pair ra nga mga bluetooth devices iyang i accept nga connection.

Most often, the person sending the virus doesnt know they are sending the virus because the virus auto sends itself to other phones via bluetooth.

i thought bluetooth is more secure kay naa mana sya lain-lain na profile, and if you use only A2DP dli man cguro makaconnect ang uban kay close connection mani nga profile... ambot pud ha? basin sayop ko....

Basin this is what they call BLUEJACKING? Try to search this keyword in google. A website even lists the vulnerable phones.

But anyway, i've always had my bluetooth turned on and never had a chance to get a virus. As what other have said, you only get the virus if you actually accept the file. For my Nokia and Sony Ericson, the file doesn't even run right away. It is saved to messaging and you get another prompt asking you if you wanted to run the file or not. On my Treo, it asks you if you want to ACCEPT the file or not.
