Windows XP users
TRY THIS command
Insert the Windows XP bootable CD into the computer.
When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press any key.
Once in the Windows XP setup menu press the "R" key to repair Windows.
Log into your Windows installation by pressing the "1" key and pressing enter.
You will then be prompted for your administrator password, enter that password.
Copy the below two files to the root directory of the primary hard disk. In the below example we are copying these files from the CD-ROM drive letter, which in this case is "e." This letter may be different on your computer.
copy e:\i386\ntldr c:\
copy e:\i386\ntdetect.com c:\
Once both of these files have been successfully copied, remove the CD from the computer and reboot.
@xaired
wat repair should i use.
before or after i prees the F8?
@ninzska: what xaired meant was imong i-boot imong xp installer sa cd-drive (not the windows boot menu when u press F. wait until it finishes loading everything (same as u're freshly installing xp). naay choices ana for installation (F3 man tingali) or for repair. press ka 'R' then follow what xaired posted.
sadly... i tried everything..
but to now avail..
my last attempt was make it as a slave.. then format it using
Administrative Tools ---> Computer Management ---> disc management
then i reformat it..
so to have fresh xp.. i plug in my HD to its proper pc. then boot 1st to cd....still i got the NTLDR.
so wat say you guyz.
okay, para makasabot ka sa imong problem, this is how windows starts up:
source: Windows XP Boot Sequence: How a Computer Starts Its Day
- First is the POST, this stands for Power On Self Test, for the computer. This process tests memory as well as a number of other subsystems. You can usually monitor this as it runs each test. After that is complete the system will run POST for any device that has a BIOS (Basic Input-Output System). An AGP has its own BIOS, as do some network cards and various other devices.
- Once the POST is complete and the BIOS is sure that everything is working properly, the BIOS will then attempt to read the MBR (Master Boot Record). This is the first sector of the first hard drive (called the Master or HD0). When the MBR takes over it means that Windows is now in control.
- The MBR looks at the BOOT SECTOR (the first sector of the active partition). That is where NTLDR is located, NTLDR is the BOOT LOADER for Windows XP. NTLDR will allow memory addressing, initiate the file system, read the boot.ini and load the boot menu. NTLDR has to be in the root of the active partition as do NTDETECT.COM, BOOT.INI, BOOTSECT.DOS (for multi-OS booting) and NTBOOTDD.SYS (if you have SCSI adapters)
- Once XP is selected from the Boot Menu, NTLDR will run NTDETECT.COM, BOOT.INI and BOOTSECT.DOS to get the proper OS selected and loaded. The system starts in 16-bit real mode and then moves into 32-bit protected mode.
- NTLDR will then load NTOSKRNL.EXE and HAL.DLL. Effectively, these two files are windows XP. They must be located in %SystemRoot%System32.
- NTLDR reads the registry, chooses a hardware profile and authorizes device drivers, in that exact order.
- At this point NTOSKRNL.EXE takes over. It starts WINLOGON.EXE that in turn starts LSASS.EXE, this is the program that display the Logon screen so that you can logon.
Now, try the suggested resolutions from this KB Article. If none of this fixes your problem, do a diagnostics on the hard drive using medias provided by its manufacturer. K?

Misconfiguration with the boot.ini file ra ni bro.
Pero if gusto ka, here is my suggestion/solution.
If you want to format your HD and have a fresh Windows XP nga OS installed. How to check if naa ba virus imong partitiond drive. here,
1. open My computer
2. in my computer window, click Tools --> folder options
3. sa folder options, click mo ang View
4. sa view, Show hidden files and folder, uncheck hide extension for known file types, uncheck hide protected operating system files (Recommended)
5. then, Apply or Ok.
after ana bro, ayaw sa jud e double click ang partition drive. Click ang Folders para mo display ang list of drives, folders sa left side sa window. then, didto nimo e select or click ang partition drive instead of double clicking the partition drive.
Then, check if naa ba ang virus. check ni nga file "autorun.inf". if naa, delete na sya. dayon try if okey na ba. but dnt forget, i balik lang pod to ang previous settings sa imong folder options.
ana ra akoang solution ana.
Pero if gusto ka nga dili lang nimo e reformat ang imong HD. kahibaw pod ko ana bro. check this link --->
SA WINDOWS XP USERS lang ni.
