ipod shuffle is never a good investment.. the nano is though.. after ipod mini was introduced, it was already obvious that apple can still go small.. and the next generation ipods would be colored...
if you want an ipod-phone... wait for it.. there will be.. i just forgot the manufacturer of the phone that will integrate ipod with it. but it's old news...

oddly enough, the mini provides a longer playtime on a single charge (up to 20hrs++ on mine, real time). the nano it seems, can only make it up to 13hrs...but it still looks hella good!
