Windows XP Pro licenses are still available... WinXP Home, sold out as of now...

Freewares are ok, ex. Ad-aware SE, AVG Free Edition, ZoneAlarm, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon, Winamp, YM, MSNM...
Norton, McAfee, Adobe, Corel, Microsoft, WinZip, WinRAR, etc... you need to buy them...

Staroffice is not freeware... OpenOffice is... i'm downloading it right now...

Businesses are BSA/NBI/PNP's priority, maybe dili na sila manghilabot sa residentials...

i'm sure, those people who are part of the raiding team have tons of pirated softwares in their homes.. hehehe...

Mao ra ghapon kay dakpon ang naggamit sa pirated nga OS or any software pero gitugutan ghapon ang mga vendor sa pagbaligya ug computer lang nga wala sulod software.... unya unsa man buhaton sa nakapalit? ang pinoy dili gusto daghan gasto...ug naa mag-offer sa nakapalit ug computer nga installan ang iya computer ug software....pirated pero barato....unsa man iya buhaton?

pero kung sa pagpalit pa lang daan sa computer naa na license nga software sa sulod...so unsa pa man problema sa piracy

you've got a point bro but the thing is, M$ Windows* is NOT the only OS around. there are a lot of alternatives which are freely available. what they (the BSA) should go after are those vendors who are selling and distributing pirated copies.

This is not the solution, this takes away your freedom to choose whatever OS you would like to have on your PC. Vendors can bundle the OS with the PC and that's ok. I bought a few PC's a few years ago without an OS and a harddisk, the PC boots up the linux os from the network using the Boot rom on the network card. Under the scenario you proposed, I would have spent a lot of money on an OS which I will not use if all PCs needs to be bundled with a computer.
