If yes, maayo. If di tanan, maayo na lang. Di man sad siguro wala gyud. I-compare sad nato ang performance sa previous Presidents considering the current global situation. Objective sad unta ta.

Remember that WE ARE ALL UNDER THE SAME GOVERNMENT.

Unya nganong di man ta pareho ug kahimtang tanan beh? HALA TUBAG! Mao na way ayo ang uban tawo KAY TAMAD MAN mao na sige ug kaon ug dukot. Perfect example are squatters.

Basin sa sunod, ang ginoo na gyud atong basulon ani. Di ra ba na siya mag SONA.

    i don't agree with that.

The term "false hope" refers to a hope based entirely around a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome.

The SONA is not in any way a fantasy or an extremely unlikely outcome. The SONA is talking about our state-of-the-nation. It's measurable, and realistic, though with a political flair. It's not crap unless to those who haphazardly think it is crap.

The more appropriate term for the SONA should be INSTILLING OPTIMISM. We should also distinguish "hope" from "optimism" coz they are both somewhat different.

Hope is an emotional state, a connotation of being aware of spiritual truth; whereas optimism is a conclusion reached through a deliberate thought pattern that leads to a positive attitude.

    ------------------------------------

and before anybody here blabbers away harsh, haphazard, negative, and pessimist views about the matter, please be as reasonable & objective as can be by reading first the full text of PGMA's SONA 2008. that way u can talk about the SONA point-by-point.

before, u myt not be aware. well, she made u aware NOW (thru SONA). it's just a matter of reading the full text again, and comprehensively.

sorry but some people are just "too lazy" to even read, digest, and ponder on what's being said in the SONA...a typical Juan Tamad mentality.

the magic word or phrase is not "wait for the guava fruit to fall into our mouth". it is "action".

As what PGMA said in her speech:"BE WITH ME ON THIS. There must be a path where justice and progress converge."..."I ask business and civil society to continue to work for a socially equitable, economically viable balance of interests."

Simply put also, that is "WE".

again our sexed starved dwarf has made sure she gets clapped and her hands shaken to make her feel important. its all bullshit if you ask me. promises never kept and achievements so small she needs to remind her people that she has done it. just before her ranting called the state of the nation she had oil prices go down and just before it went up again. now if she wants, truly to lessen our burden she should concentrate on that. the urban poor cannot be anything else but poor and we the working class will soon join that bracket since finding work and jobs here is getting harder. our standard of living has gone up but our standard of work in terms of salaries stay the same. how do she expect us to provide more jobs to those who work for us? how does she expect us to maintain salaries of our own mall workforce when they hike prices of basic commodities yet providing less and less opportunities for work? sure cll centers and what have yous but that is just the tip of the iceberg... does she think the rest of the population to turn to that industry kay lisud nata? so carpenters will be agents, doctors too maybe nurses...i wonder if she maybe interested to be an agent too hehe bottom line is we are worser than where we were before. but shes just too damned short to see the horizon or be it beyond her office table.

and some people just got the galls to blabber about something they didn't even read and comprehend about first...all they think about is hate, hate, hate the president. in effect, to them the SONA is bullsh*t. Pagka ngilngig nlng jud ani nila. Mas ngilngig pa cguro sa presidente.

"bottom line is we are worser than where we were before." actually, she mentioned this in her speech but not the exact words as u have. she was comparing 2007 with 2008 with an explanation.

and may i correct this one: "she needs to remind". the correct phrase is "our constitution duty-bounds her to REPORT". NOT "remind". and it's NOT "her need" but "our constitution's need". it's a constitutional "obligation".

and i think that's how u got the wrong impression first hand of what SONA is all about.
