8GB ram not detected on windows system

thread starter: so, your using a windows 2003 server? how about using the 64-bit variant of windows 2003 server. or you can use windows server 2008. that's what i'm using on my other machine.

for the other two respondents: is there a server grade vista? i don't think so but correct if i'm wrong.

a vista equivalent..server 2008. ive got a copy in 32bit and 64bit flavors..

i downloaded it from somewhere i wont tell.

same vista interface..but definitely more secure.

yeah, i know. i was just making sure that the other people here knows what they are talking about. you just can't replace a server OS with just a workstation class OS. if the thread starter used a server then he needs the services and security of a server. therefore, if they are to suggest then windows server 2008 would have in order.

basta 32-bit imo OS, di gyud na kita ana.. it cant even see 4Gig when u look it up sa OS but it shows sa BIOS... usually ang makita ana is below 4Gig but then again, makit-an na nimo sa BIOS, if BIOS detects the correct amount of RAM na imo gi use, ok rana...

This is the limitation of a 32-bit architecture OS... pero ang kanang wa na detect sa OS doesnt mean na wa na sya gigamit sa imo sys... gamiton na sya sa I/O devices, PCI, and other peripherals sa imo mobo...

yeah.u just can't replace a server os with a workstation Class OS for security reasons....but in this case..its a server2008 sir. as tested..though still in beta stage..it works just as gud for both machine..a server or a workstation.. according to the reviews i've read..

and ur right again sir..windows server 2008 x64 wud be the gud choice..
