3 RP govt execs linked to Michael Ray face FBI raps
Three Philippine government officials will also be charged in connection with Michael Ray Aquino's arrest for allegedly stealing classified information from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) official said Tuesday.
Lawyer Ricardo Diaz, chief of the NBI-International Police, told ANC that one of the three is a high-ranking government official and the other two are on the secondary level.
He said he got the information from an FBI agent assigned to Manila.
Diaz said the FBI agent declined to give him names.
The Interpol chief added that the charges may be filed "in just a matter of days."
He said they are in constant coordination with the FBI regarding the case.
Meanwhile, Sen. Panfilo Lacson denied having received any classified information from Aquino.
In a faxed press statement, Lacson said: "I don't recall having received any information sensitive to the US government."
He said the pieces of information he received from Aquino "were largely news that everyone has read and heard in our local media."
Lacson added: "Neither would the information gathered by Ninoy Aquino be worth even an American penny."
