So to use 4GB of RAM or MORE, you have to use the 64-Bit version of Windows & Linux?

seems like it. but you can still install 4gb of ram on a 32-bit system. the only downside is you cannot make use of the entire 4gb. it will show that you have about 3.5gb of ram installed. but still, 1.5gb of ram on top of 2gb still makes a lot of difference.
