yoncha, scrap the intel processor. Your CPU will cook better meals than your regular aluminum cookware. Get AMD Athlon 64 CPUs instead.

yoncha, I can only offer you 1 piece of advice... don't take our word, get to google and do an extensive research on the subject... don't let our "fanboy" insights influence your decision. it is best that you decide on your own which platform would best serve your needs.

based on my experience though, a P4 performs better for video and 3d rendering than an Athlon64 (on a single core/processor basis)... and with regards to the P4's heat issue, it is nothing that can't be fixed by simply improving air-flow. of course you might want to check on the new dual core/processor platforms if your budget allows it...
