The problem of multi-GPU'S is they are more prone to stuttering (aka microstuttering).
Mao na nga doubtful pko mag sli or xfire..

so much better if single card with dual gpu's?

    Not really...

You can eliminate microstutters by running the game at a setting where your graphics cards are able to output more than the monitors refresh rate (that is, the maximum FPS the monitors are capible of; the pixels on your screen can only change so fast) microstuttering is eliminated completely.
Most monitors have a refresh rate of 60 or 70Hz, meaning you would need 70 or 80 FPS to eliminate microstuttering.

    I haven't noticed since I can't notice a frame coming up every millisecond (1/1000 of a second).

have tried turning crossfire on and off and didn't notice the difference. I myself have tried both single and dual card. crossfire is smoother than a single card.
Even single a card has microstutterings.

A single card has even more stutterings unless it is GTX280 due to not able to cope with heavy graphics details.

sa kadugayan, its the pocket that decides...

for other topics na na-include diri, microstuttering had already been fixed for Ati X2's. besides, you can barely notice it and it happens only if (1) imo i-partner and high-end cards with low-end monitors or (2) one of the two video processors hanged up or gets delayed or is trying to catch up with the other processor, so a single rendering of frame gets lagged. in dual-core VC, dili na gakahitabo because its using shared memory (or hopefully) as per its architecture and pipelines are large already.

@pangitko: murag ingana jud na padong, murag mas mo prefer ko og single X2, kay dili man SLi ready ako mobo, baratohon ra.

Ngindot unta mag dual GPU.
