guys... opinions and facts are all open here.. no more personal attacks... it's a way of exchanging ideas in able to help us gain knowledge and spread for the others who don't know. smart people are not hot-iron headed as it is. keep the arguments smooth and easy...

    gud one.

yeah..FSB had rested..quickpath is the new guy

...he most significant of these features is QuickPath, which is a brand new link architecture very similar to AMD’s HyperTransport, and getting rid of the front-side bus (FSB) system altogether.

...Performance numbers for QuickPath are reported to be 4.8 to 6.4 Gigatransfers per second (GT/s) per direction, and a link can be 5, 10 or 20 bits wide in each direction. Therefore the bandwidth provided by a full width link amounts to 12.0 to 16.0 GB/s per direction, or 24.0 to 32.0 GB/s per link.

...The initial Nehalem implementation uses a 20-bit wide 25.6 GB/s link (as reported in the Intel Nehalem Speech on IDF). This 25.6 GB/s link provides exactly double the amount of theoretical bandwidth as Intel's 1600 MHz FSB used in the X48 chipset.

    very wicked speed...

heres an example of how QP or QuickPath can go..

New Core 2 Duo E8600 @ 6.15 GHz. For the KILL

    https://www.istorya.net/forums/comput...-the-kill.html

the article gives me starry eyes. What will AMD do?...

poor AMD ddnt even pushed thru on making 65nm Dual Core .. scared of C2D. hahaha

chicken ra kayu ang 4GHz with E8600 at 400 fsb. na pa ni E8800 sunod? hehhe dugay pa Christmas!

    waaaa..

i ddnt notice.. this is the fastest 45nm Dual Core by intel..

8600.. so meaning at anytime they can come up with 8700 , 8800, or 8900.

    omg thats scary.

AMd has been producing dual core 65nm Brisbane for quite a while now.
    Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 X2 5200+ Brisbane 2.7GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor - Processors

From what I heard AMD will not be pushing through 45nm they will go directly to 32nm.

    correct me if im wrong..

Dual core 65nm Phenom gets canceled

As 65nm Phenom mask would be bigger than the one that AMD has with K8 at 65nm, some important people have decided to cancel the dual core Phenom until 45nm arrives.

The decision was based on business and is a strategy, as AMD likes the way that the dual core Athlons perform and these dual core 3.2GHz CPUs are selling for under €100 as we speak.

It would be very tough to position a dual core Phenom and AMD probably has the same clocking problem with these dual cores.

Dual core Phenom's at 45nm should be scheduled for Q2 2009 and from this point in time, this looks awfully far away.

    Fudzilla

i guess it was shown on theinquirer.net too!

and with the 8600 45nm.. i hope AMD sees the light of day. hehe

Why would they make dual core 65nm Phenom when they already have a very good performance and energy efficient dual core Brisbane cores.

The biggest purpose for why they shrink the die size is to fit more cache as evident with the E8000 series with Intel. So why would they make dual core Phenom when they already have dual core athlons x2s with the same die size and runs very cool and optimized.
Phenom dual cores are just fake news
these fake news are not very reliable becuase they are not practical in a business sense.
But it does matter for a fanboy to create more mockery reasons.

And big deal with the 6ghz. Any E8000 series and even an E6600 series can clock that high.
