it's not because Tomas was sourgraping, he really has a point.
what is AIM's criteria and methods? did they even try to investigate the uber-rampant corruption and even extortion in LapuLapu? The roads, the floods, squatters, pollution, drugs, crime percentage, etc.
Tomas was already questioning AIM's study I think for the last 2 years na because it is not giving a good image for Cebu and is obviously inaccurate.
mura ra gud na ug magpa ISO sa kompanya sa una elite kaayo pero karon mabayran na.
Lapu-lapu 2nd among metro cities? waaaat?
unsa na lang kahay kinabuhi didto sa ubang metro cities nga wala naapil sa ilang list noh? murag hell na jud cguro...heheh
Mas nindot man siguro puy an ang Lapu-lapu compare to Cebu City. Ngano man diay ang cebu city wlay squatters, drugs, violence, flood, pollution etc.? LOL...
ako taga Lapu-lapu ko..
but with these categories that AIM formulated:
Quality of LifeQuality, cost of doing business, dynamism of local economy, human resources and training, infrastructure, and responsiveness of local government units (LGUs) to business needs.
i can't figure out what makes Lapu-lapu so special.. di man cguro mag layo ang Cebu City ug Lapu-lapu under these categories. pag chur mo AIM...
malingaw nasab si balatucan ug debate ani kung wala pato na ban...
calling balatucan, I know your using a different handle here...

HERE's my analysis on the AIM Survey and as to why Cebu City didn't make it to the top:
AIM’s Survey of Competitive Cities: An Analysis
Here's an excerpt from the link above:
I tried to make an analysis and perhaps this is one of the reasons: Cebu City is growing at a very fast (and alarming) rate that its existing infrastructure cannot cope up with it.
Remember that the survey is all about competitiveness and not about the existing presence of malls, flyovers, tunnels, high rise buildings, the number of buildings currently being constructed, the number of investments coming in, etc. It’s not also about urbanity lest we make a survey about the most important economic centers in the country where Cebu would obviously rank first in the Visayas and Mindanao. Competitiveness is about how problems are being remedied in order for the city to cope up with its growth in order to make it more attractive for investments to continuously come in.
