there are various rites sa catholics but the most common is the roman rite as it is used by rome. For ordinary catholics, wala sila kasabot niini.
The latin prayers and mass in latin has no direct impact on the listeners except the fact that are awed and mystified by such beautiful yet dead language.
@richard, sagdi lang nang mga side comments ni s.n.m.p. kay basin diay he's a good man in person.
The reason why dili na latin ang misa so that the message will be localized and ordinary people can understand it. Roman rite lang gihapon pero local language na gigamit. Extreme traditionalist prefer traditional mass over the true purpose of the mass.
To be honest again, no. I'm neither dacs, nor tempest, tempest2, dawnrunner or any other. I am myself, HoundedbyHeaven. I despise having more than one username, especially the sort that has ecclesiastical titles to it.wahahahahaha ikaw man si DACS, HOUNDEDHEAVEN, TEMPEST, TEMPEST2, DAWNRUNNER!!! grabeh ka bai dili gyud ka moundang? wahahah this is just a question and a revelation.........
dacs, I believe, is a part of the USCTC faculty staff. TEMPEST, TEMPEST2 and DAWNRUNNER, I suspect, are one and the same person-- which is not me, again. I argued with him in favor of the decision of the CBCP to not call for the resignation of Pres. Arroyo.
I'm an Internet business news librarian.

The spirit of the Lord's supper written by a Catholic Theologian in the book DISCOVERING THE EUCHARIST reminds all to NEVER forget that the Lord's supper is about fellowship. Most of us don't greet each other in the Mass...
While amongst Roman Catholics it is an S.O.P. to make the sign of peace (Ezek. 13: 10 ) that very Catholic book reminds us to once in awhile get acquainted at least with our fellow brethren who are of the same clergy.
irregardless of how one looks at the Lord's supper it's true and profound meaning is an INVITATION to fellowship in the table of the New and Everlasting Covenant. This is tackled in DISCOVERING THE EUCHARIST, it is sold in St. Paul's outlets in SM and Ayala.
