@dubioz : i've already tried changing the power supply from my other PC. both 300W. i dnt hve higher Watts. but both 300W PSU s wrking w/ my other PC (neighbor's PC). HAHAHA!

actually if you are troubleshooting, if it works sa lain pc it doesn't mean 100% mo work sab na sa laing pc. sa imo case, when you upgrade it there could be possible hardware issue nga ni block sa port sa imo keyboard reason nga maka-ingon ka nga dili ka continue then mo reboot or mo halt.
I am assuming naa ka sa EULA where in you need to press F8 to accept the term however your mobo failed to load the hardware settings causing the pc to fail. if pc recognize a fail signal most of the time it will reboot to avoid major problems.

have you tried clean install? (Format - install)

if you can answer this then I will proceed to next TS.

300W on a P4? Sounds a little underpowered to me, labi na kung generic.

experienced this pud a very long time ago nga mag reboot after sa EULA. what i did was, akong gi gamit ang bare ra nga devices, hard disk, disk drive, memory keyboard mouse and ang iyang on-board nga video card, den akong gi copy ang i386 nga folder sa cd into the hard drive, booted the pc using a win98se nga bootdisk, then install from there. ni success ang pag install and then ayha nako gi taud ang akong video card, ni ok man pero mao sad lagi, old school style jud.

reminder lang if ul do this, dapat FAT naka format ang hard drive kay kung NTFS, dili ma access nimo ang hard drive after booting from diskette. ako pud gi search sa google naa man toy maka auto create ug win98se nga bootdisk, limot lang ko sa name sa site. hope this helps...

@taga_ipil : yup win98 ni xa daan. 2003 ni xa napalit sir.. pero dli nani original iyang memory. sa ako ni memory sa other pc. parehas raman DDR. im nt sure if pareha ni sila pero masakar rah. PC2700. ang old memory kay gilabay naman sa akong bro. dn wen i tried to install for a new OS w/c is XP. mao nani iyang prob. dn f ibalik nako xa sa original 98 ok man xa. mo.wrk man xa perfectly. mao na akong gikahibungan. yup i've tried clean install. format and install.

have you run compatibility test for XP while it was running on win98?
how about the memory, maka-support ang board ana? (nindot kung naa pa ang manual)
also do you have any USB attached? (mouse,keyboard, printer etc)


I really love to help because I also had this problem with my pc but upgrading my BIOS
fixed it.

bro, ang timing na sa imong memory. kay dili naman kaha na original ang memory pagpalit nimo? Try change ug new memory then higher. Naka encounter ko ana before sa akong PC. pero akong gibuhat kay nag ilis rko ug memory.
