na-abtan sad to nako mga xxx-rated comics zerk (remember, you're only two years younger than me). Marcos era pa to. I can buy them
off the streets but had to hide them under my bed. Nasakpan gihapon pero maayo na lang understanding ako parents

yes, i agree gwapo pagka-pencils. i used to trace them and practice coloring them with watercolor to get realistic flesh tones

those artists could give the Heavy Metal artists and even Sizzle artists a run for their money. asa na kaha sila run no?

well it is, the demographic for comics here in the philippines is decreasing... no one wants to read anymore... they want to watch instead...

culture crash is a fine example of how philippine comics would be...
    - if the artists stayed on schedule and quit ****ing around with their game consoles or going abroad to some silly convention just to show off that their rich and give them bragging rights... the asses! where is the next issue of culture crash!!!!!!! damn it!!!!
darna / lastikman / sha sha
    - the same why i don't read wildcats, its a rip - off...
    pugad baboy
    - is a fun read but i think it works as a newspaper comic strip only

    leinil francis yu
    - i saw him at the anime convention at ayala center cebu some time ago, i was browsing at the filbar's booth, and he just passed by...

its happening all over the world not only in pinas. bai, comics aint what it used to be in the 90's. anyway, if you want to discuss more of pinoy comics.. go to www.komikero.com and tell the creators what you think of their work.

    on rip-off / parody :
try reading miracleman and watchmen. both by alan moore.

leinil francis yu has cebuano roots. his mom and my aunt are former classmates.. at least thats what my aunt told me.

    hahay...
watch alan moore's comic turned movie - "v for vendetta" starring natalie portman/ hugo weaving with screenplay by the wachowski brothers...

Take for example, Whilce Portacio. Â*He taught many Filipinos how to
draw and in my opinion, some of his students' works surpass his.

But is he complaining? Is he asking to be repaid? No, I think Whilce is
happy that he has bought Pinoy talent to the US and now they're
being appreciated there more than they are here.

Naa kaha Cebuano equivalent ni Whilce?
coooll Whilce Portacio is my idol! I luv his artwork in The Wetwork bagsik kaayo and also his artwork in Marvel!
