Not probably ... IT IS called WiFi. The convenience of powerline has been rendered obsolete by WiFi years ago. There is no advantage ... whether convenience (WiFi is more convenient and also faster in less than optimum environments) ... or performance (ethernet is faster).

200mbps direct. Like wifi its shared bandwidth, splits every time you add, can go up 64 in one location. But our main target are homes. I don't think anyone will have that much, 6 will be a lot already for one house.

Pricing I guarantee is very affordable. Cant discuss that yet, only when goods arrive.

@vern: Its not relying on the electrical current and it wont matter if the power is unstable because its just using the electrical circuit. Hope this helps clarify things.

This is targeted towards homes or small offices who failed to include structured cabling during construction. It does not aim to compete with Cat5, but as an alternative for those who want to save money, and not wreck there place or add moldings just to hide wires.

Access points will also be available in the setup, just plug it to the receiving outlet and you have an access point already

@ryan ... it doesn't rely on the current, but yet is susceptible to signal degradation and interference that anything over wire goes through. The frequency of AC is usually around 50-60Hz, but equipment such as fluorescent lights or microwaves cause much higher frequencies to be present in the circuit which extremely degrades performance ... and from personal experience ... to the point of causing network disconnection quite often. There is another problem of security. Powerline propagates throughout the entire electrical circuit ... much the same way a hub works. Any security conscious user or decent evil-doer can easy sniff out the network even if it had proper configuration. If you are going to try to market this and profit from it, I'd highly suggest you try this out and evaluate it based on experience and not marketing before you invest a pile of money on it. There is a reason why wide deployment of powerline networking hasn't caught on. You should see if this technology is suitable in the market you intend to sell it in before diving in.

@cosplay ... just because there are better solutions doesn't mean a piece of technology shouldn't be developed for other reasons such as economics. Why do we still use propeller airplanes when jet engines are so much better? Food for thought. There is a place for everything and some technologies are better suited for one market over another.

Since this is the first time we have tried it, I have tested it for 3 days straight, no disconnection and not a single problem.

Currently its with dbgg, I requeted him to test it further for file transfer. As for me, Ive tested it with video streaming with ordinary files. Will do more test and update you.

sakto ni. electricity runs at a low frequency mn which is why it doesnt matter if unstable or not. the only problem is the impedance. daku mn noise kng sa power line paagihon which is why limited ra sa home and small offices ra ni ky gamay ra distance between pc but then again, here comes wifi...
