Suggest to use Ubuntu, especially for desktop/laptop use. I used Fedora before. Switched to Ubuntu, because there is better documentation and broader user base for Ubuntu. If you need specific drivers, software to run in Ubuntu, you are more likely to find someone who has already done it before and has a solution online.
Gnoppix for speed. Ma shock ka sa performance sa imong laptop.. kay ang ubuntu sobra ra ka bloated oie...
Ubuntu. Nice lang. Hehehe. Bitaw, na-receive na nako ang free cds nila, Ubuntu 8.04.
Its possible to even have up to 145 different OSes installed on one machine.
Check: How to install and boot 145 operating systems in a PC - JustLinux Forums
With regards to installing Linux on a laptop, I'd go with Ubuntu. They've been getting better and better since 6.06. It's my OS for work.
For personal use though I'd go for Mepis 7.0. Its a more home user oriented O.S.
Yeah.. that reminds me... Mepiz is a good one for users...
