i believe some people here miss another point as well. we are comparing mac and pc right? and mac OS goes with this topic to too. so what OS are you going to put in the PC guys? hehehehe.

mac os. hmm. that sounds cool and all. so you get to play games on your mac os? windows has a lot of games. but mac has a game which windows can't play. TETRIS PRO (for MAC).

anyway. mac os is nice and all, there's just little software support. buy a PC. get a mac os X, windows xp, windows vista, linux, and have them all on a single sub 30K machine.

what's good about mac is the way you uprade it. with a pc, you have to open the insides, get drivers, test run, etc. with a mac, you just pick up the mac, throw it away, and get a new one. XD

mac's hardware are overrated, again. to think you can get an equivalent pc for such little money. they only charge so much for the design.

i prefer macs over pcs any day but we shouldnt bother comparing really. it all comes down to personal preference. my bro has a pc and i have a mac. he likes meat, i like veggies. he plays games while i design. macs are known to be highly priced but i was willing to make an investment for my future in design (or just a have this delicious piece of machine sitting on my desk if that doesnt work out). ive never had one security problem with my mac thank god coz i cant be bothered with that =P. and my mac is just so...clean! and who cares about not being able to upgrade a mac. just get a new one! i wouldn't wanna be stuck with the same thing anyway.

i.ve installed win xp sp3 / vista32 ultimate / and leopard in my humble machine..

and sometimes..i put the linux linspire live cd just to a taste of it...

once again the point has been missed. Macs are not for everyone. games was never the focus of Macs. this may come to a surprise to some but the Mac was designed for people who want to get things done. both for the casual users and the professionals (that work in film editing, film compositing, photography,
music production, television, artist). a web developer will benefit from having to run leopard, windows, and(insert a variant of) Linux all at the same time. as for the issue of price see my last comment.

PC's on the other hand will always be perfect in the enterprise side of the industry, with people the whole network is running, oh and of course games which drive the accelerated hardware development of the PC. customization is also unparalleled for those who know and have the time. but tell me this, is a desktop computer an inch thick that has the proc, mboard, memory, hard drive, vcard, optical drive, and a monitor in one package be dismissed as a overrated as a designed hardware? could someone assemble such a case and come up the same price or cheaper let alone look good?

reading through the comments will only direct one to the conclusion of how well do people know Macs (like using it exclusively for a long period of time) and its place. one simple test was to note how some spell apple's OS as a abbreviation to media access control. hmm. could it be that no one have really used it to get stuff done or a person who loves to assemble computers cant stand the concept that the time save in mixing and matching components is a good idea? and all you do is concentrate in improving productivity?

in the end, sadly i may be explaining to people who already made up their mind.

it is really ironic about the Vista flaming and all.. AS i recalled WE flamed xp coz it sucked like yrs back...

Why do we flame newer OS, coz of their Bugs and etc we did that with xp.. and now we say "XP is way better and Vista sucks" , recall what we said yeaars back "98 rules, XP sucks.." now we cling onto xp and do away with change with vista.. lets give vista time.. its a newOS with new bugs and stuff which will be fixed..

For MAC vs PC depends on what you wana do with it..

MAC is really good for Video, Audio and Photo editing..

PC on the other hand is really good for multimedia gaming.. and etc..
it really depends on what u want from it..


I own a MAC book which i use for video and sound editing
and i use a pc and a laptop with xp or vista home for my gaming and stuff needs..

i dont QQ about which OS is beter and which is sucky.... time will tell...

mac had evolved and so does the pc over the years..

mac and its users had become a community :
*of financially elites :
*of creative professionals
*of people hu wud love to use the the machine than tinker the machine. ...

pc and its users also had evolved,more than mac..and now divided into..
* elite enthusiast ( people wu had pc rig that kicks ur mac)
* enthusiast
* gamers
* creative professionals
* plain users *
* noobs.

mac now uses intel ( gudbye ibm-motorolla )...pc worlds now uses intel.amd.via. etc

mac have os x and its variants. pc now have windows ....98.2k.me.xp.vista. / os x / lunix

mac is both hardware and software native 64bit.. pc is available both 32 and 64 bit hardware and software flavor offerings.

bottom line....Mac OS X is the only difference between our machines...

but its just that PC nowadays had taken MAC elitist status.. blame intel
